The giant wind turbines of Segré
Standing proudly high into the sky of Maine-et-Loire since 1 September 2020, the three giant wind turbines of Segré reach a height of 145 metres. Their masts are 95 metres high and their blades have a span of 50 metres, a symbol of a renewable energy future. With a total capacity of 6 MW, generating 17.5 GWh a year, they are the source of electricity for 7,000 inhabitants.

Your safety is our priority
- All adult visitors must show proof of identity (valid identity card or passport, French driving licence provided that the photograph resembles the holder).
- Groups are limited to 30 people with the obligatory presence of 2 accompanying persons (limited to the pedagogical team).
- A list of pupils and accompanying persons must be communicated before the visit; access to the site is forbidden to persons not on the list.
- Any action contrary to or not in compliance with the safety rules during the visit will lead to the immediate halting of the visit and the evacuation of the group outside the CNR site.

Visits are possible every day during open periods as a function of the time slots available.

Please note:
Visits can be suspended without notice for reasons of public order by demand of the authorities. This may also be the case of major maintenance works or due to force majeure. Access to the sites is not allowed in the case of heat waves, rain, storms and violent wind.
How to come ?

From Segré-en-Anjou Bleu, take the D923 direction Chemazé. At the roundabout Le Rendez-Vous des Chasseurs, turn right and continue along the D923. Take the first left, then again, the first left.
Meet at the wind turbine parking lot.
Practical information
- You must wear trousers and trainers or hiking shoes. If not, you will not be allowed to enter the site.
- Do not use your cell phones, laptop computers, cameras, dictaphones or any electronic devices. They are prohibited during the visit.
