At the end of April 2018, the solar power plant of La Roche-de-Glun started to capture the sun’s energy, by deploying its 9,614 solar panels on a former industrial wasteland of 5.5 hectares.
This installation, with a capacity of 2.6 MWp, produces 3.6 GWh of electricity every year, enough to satisfy the energy needs of around 1,600 inhabitants. This solar power plant takes care of the environment, by protecting sensitive natural areas, by favouring biodiversity with wild plants beneficial for pollinating insects, and by maintaining the site ecologically thanks to grazing by sheep.
